Dr. Loughner is board-certified in Family Medicine and Osteopathic Manipulative Therapy. She is a Pittsburgh native who was born and raised in Leechburg. She received her Bachelor's degree in Biology from Allegheny College in Erie, then attended Lake Erie College of Osteopathic Medicine at Seton Hill University in Greensburg. She completed her Osteopathic Family Medicine Residency through Virginia Commonwealth University at Riverside in Newport News, VA. Dr. Loughner is one of few osteopathic physicians in the Pittsburgh area who incorporates Osteopathic Manipulative Treatment (OMT) into her practice. OMT is a hands-on manual treatment used for a variety of conditions that reduces pain, increases mobility, and promotes healing through gentle manipulation of the soft tissues, muscles, and joints.
Dr. Loughner went into primary care because she values honest and trusting patient-doctor relationships. As an osteopathic physician, she takes a holistic approach to care and emphasizes the importance of treating the whole person. She enjoys getting to know her patients as who they are and not just the ailments they may have. She found this increasingly difficult to do through insurance-based medicine and sought a better approach that would allow her to build and foster these relationships with her patients. She learned about direct primary care and knew this was the way. After serving her country as a physician in the United States Air Force for the past 4 years in North Dakota, she is thrilled to now be back home in Pittsburgh and is grateful for the opportunity to serve her community by giving her patients the best care they both need and deserve.
Dr. Loughner is also a certified fitness trainer and prioritizes health and fitness in her life. She has worked as a fitness instructor at [solidcore] and F45. She believes in eating a well-balanced diet to fuel the body but also that food is something to be enjoyed. She is a fitness enthusiast and insists that exercise can be fun! She is passionate about helping her patients be and feel their best through living a healthy lifestyle.
She is a Christian, mom of 3, and loves spending time with her family. She enjoys music, reading, camping, and spending time outdoors.
