Dr. Marielle Williamson-Rea

Meet Dr. Marielle Williamson-Rea
Dr. Marielle Williamson-Rea is a board-certified physician specializing in Family Medicine and Lifestyle Medicine, bringing a personalized, whole-person approach to primary care.
Dr. Williamson-Rea is originally from Edinboro, Pennsylvania. She completed her undergraduate studies at the Indiana University of Pennsylvania Cook Honors College and earned her medical degree from the Lake Erie College of Osteopathic Medicine at Seton Hill. She completed her residency at the UPMC Shadyside Family Medicine Residency Program in Pittsburgh. Driven by her passion for preventive health, she went on to achieve board certification in Lifestyle Medicine from the American College of Lifestyle Medicine. She also serves as Adjunct Faculty at the Duquesne College of Osteopathic Medicine, helping to educate the next generations of physicians.
Dr. Williamson-Rea values proactive care within the direct primary care (DPC) model. In traditional practice, she felt hindered in delivering the high-quality care her patients deserved due to limited time and little availability for appointments. The DPC model with Direct Care Physicians of Pittsburgh is her solution, allowing her the necessary time to truly understand each patient and tailor interventions. She combines evidence-based primary medical care with evidence-based lifestyle interventions, focusing on nutrition, movement, restorative sleep, stress management, social connections, and substance avoidance. Due to her family medicine training, she has experience treating a wide scope of acute and chronic conditions. She values the intertwined nature of physical and mental health, prioritizing accessible care and easy follow-up. She also values ongoing education to stay up to date in medicine, and she prioritizes learning every day.
Outside of the clinic, Dr. Williamson-Rea enjoys exercise for the mental and physical well-being that movement brings. She enjoys running, cycling, strength training, walking, and hiking, as well as cooking for her for family and traveling. She is deeply grateful for her family and friends. She lives in Pittsburgh with her husband Jacob and their two beloved dogs, Ave and Freja.
She looks forward to partnering with you to achieve your best health.
